Hell On Reels: Astoria Moving Picture Festival A Success! May 24, 2006
IMMACULATE PERCEPTION screened at the hugely successful HELL ON REELS [ASTORIA MOVING PICTURE FESTIVAL] on Sunday evening. The festival — organized by Susan Agliata and Janine Fleri — was well attended. The festival gets its name from the Hell Gate Bridge nearby. Over 30 films were projected on the large outdoor screen. Actress, Patricia Aleman, who played Maria's mother in IMMACULATE PERCEPTION, was present along with the director and producer. According to Patricia, the film got a good response from the audience. "The film had a definite ambience", said one viewer. "It was truly beautiful", said another. IMMACULATE PERCEPTION was one of 36 official selections out of 145 film submissions received. The festival received entries from places such as Australia, Canada, China, France, the Netherlands, Sweden, United Kingdom, and of course, Queens, NY.
